Trump Reposts Racist Image Darkening Kamala Harris' Face and Giving Her a Dung Beetle Body
Ahead of his announced press conference at his Mar-a-Lago country club home on Thursday, Trump reposted a a meme depicting his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, with darkened skin and with the body of a dung beetle on a coconut. Dung beetles feast on animal feces, and the kind depicted in Trump's awful meme are known as rollers because they roll around animal poop as a traveling food source.

Trump's reposted meme is an MAGA version of an actual New York Magazine cover showing Kamala Harris and others celebrating her presidential run. In the center is a large coconut with Kamala Harris celebrating on top.

The message on the coconut reads, "Welcome to Kamalot." Charlie XCX and Beyoncé can be seen celebrating around the coconut along with Chuck Schumer, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Barack Obama, George Clooney, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Hakeem Jeffries.

Trump's reposted version replaced the celebratory image of Kamala Harris with one depicting Harris with darkened skin and the body of a dung beetle. Trump's meme implies the coconut, a symbol some use to show support for Harris' campaign, is a ball of animal poop.

The depiction of Harris shows her with mouth open in an angry rage wearing a gold chain, but with the body of a dung beetle. The caption on this fake magazine cover asks, "Are you buying our bullshit?"
The same celebratory cast of Charlie XCX, Beyoncé, and others still appear at the bottom. Trump's intent appears to makes Harris, the first Indian and Black woman candidate for president on a major party ticket, menacing and scary.

Darkening the skin tone of Black people is a racist act. It is unclear if the darkened skin that covers most of Kamala Harris face in Trump's meme is supposed to be a darker version her own skin or is supposed to represent the feces she would supposedly be feeding on as a dung beetle.
Either way, Trump's racist meme is the latest in his racist attacks on Kamala. Trump has purposefully misspelled her name as, "Kamabla," and has insisted that Kamala Harris decided to be Black and turned Black one day.

Trump has also posted using Kamala Harris' Indian heritage to attack her Black racial identity. As his campaign of hate continues, we can expect Trump to launch more racist attacks against Kamala Harris.
