Donald Trump’s former lawyer, John Eastman, just filed a motion with the California State Bar Court begging that they delay the ongoing proceedings against him to revoke his law license because, he argues in the new papers, he is an unindicted co-conspirator in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s most recent indictment.

Eastman’s motion asks for an indefinite stay or pause on the proceedings against him to revoke his law license in California until the criminal case against Donald Trump now pending in federal court in Washington D.C. for crimes related to the 2020 election is fully resolved. Alternatively, Eastman requests a three month pause in the State Bar proceedings against him.

California Central District Federal Judge David Carter previously ruled that Eastman and Donald Trump were engaged in a “coup in search of a legal theory” and rejected Eastman’s assertion of the attorney-client privilege back in 2022, in a lawsuit Eastman filed against the January 6 Committee.

Eastman was one of the leaders of the plan to overthrow the 2020 election with Donald Trump. Eastman also gave a speech at the January 6 Insurrection. Here is a part of that speech:

Eastman invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination when he was questioned by the January 6 Committee. Here is the video of him invoking the Fifth:

Donald Trump’s lawyer, John Lauro, has been giving interviews stating that one of the defenses Donald Trump intends to assert based on the charges brought him against him is an “advice of counsel” defense, and specifically that Trump relied on the advice of Eastman. We have previously covered here on the MeidasTouch Network weekend addition of Legal AF that an “advice of counsel” defense would fail since it would require Donald Trump to take the stand which he will never do. Here is John Lauro blaming John Eastman for Trump’s conduct during a recent interview:

Eastman’s legal filing with the State Bar is also puzzling given Eastman’s lawyer just gave an interview and said that while Eastman is not willing to “flip” on Trump, Eastman wants to tell his side of the story. Well, so much for that. Just more gaslighting. Here is the recent interview by Eastman’s attorney:

Eastman is just pursuing the usual MAGA playbook: delay, delay, delay. There is no reason why the California State Bar Court should delay these proceedings. We believe that Eastman is a menace to the legal profession and must be held accountable immediately. His law license should be revoked.
