Trump Endorses Congressman Embroiled in GOP Colleague Affair Scandal
Trump endorsed GOP Congressman Rich McCormick for reelection, noting that the Republican "is doing a great job representing the people of Georgia's 6th Congressional District." Trump said McCormick is "working hard" and has his "complete and total endorsement."
On the other hand, McCormick doesn't have the endorsement of his wife, Dr. Debra Miller, who is filing for divorce. Miller hinted to reporters to ask McCormick and his colleague about an affair.
Rep. Beth Van Duyne then confirmed the affair to the Daily Mail, stating the two are "happily engaged in a relationship" and said the marriage between McCormick and Miller has been over for some time.
The Daily Mail reported that "they've been caught arriving at and leaving late night events together, and multiple eyewitnesses have seen the pair holding hands just off the House floor."
The Advocate noted that the two have spoken out against transgender issues. In a 2020 ad, McCormick cited his Christian faith as a reason to vote for him. A social media post indicates that McCormick was previously involved in church ministry.
Trump doesn't seem to mind the hypocrisy and scandal, endorsing McCormick days after his affair broke. Perhaps we'll spot the two together soon! Maybe there's a magical Mar-a-Lago wedding in their future.
