Top Democrat: GOP Wants to Cover-Up Jared Kushner $2 Billion Saudi Payoff
Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin has not forgotten about the $2 billion paid to Jared Kushner by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund. You shouldn’t either.
When Donald Trump was in office, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud boasted he had Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, "in his pocket” and that Kushner may have provided him a classified “kill list” of political opponents.
Kushner was not able to secure a security clearance because he was deemed comprised by national security officials, but he was nonetheless given access to our nation's highest-guarded secrets by Trump, who allowed Kushner to serve in key government posts on a de facto basis. While holding government positions in the White House, Kushner and wife Ivanka Trump made up to $640 million.
Congressman Raskin has not forgotten these facts and wants to make sure the American people have not either.
On Meet the Press this Sunday, Raskin spoke about the obsession by MAGA Republicans, like James Comer — who chairs the powerful House of Representatives Oversight Committee — with Hunter Biden: “[Comer] doesn't want to talk about Jared Kushner, who brought back $2 billion — not million, billion — from Saudi Arabia to a company he created the day after the Trump administration ended.”
Here is the video:
Back in February, Congressman Raskin went on MSNBC and discussed the $2 billion Kushner-Saudi deal as well.
Raskin explained that Kushner was leading American foreign policy in the Middle East so naturally, “We want to know, what did Saudi Arabia get out of it, such that he felt it was so important to rush back to America from Saudi Arabia to start his firm the day after the Trump Administration ended?” That seems like a very rational and important question to ask.
Raskin is not alone. He has been joined by most other Democrats in the House of Representatives who have been calling out the blatant hypocrisy of MAGA Republicans.
For example, at a recent committee hearing in July, Democratic Congressman Jared Moskowitz explained, "We didn't hear a lot about Joe Biden. Why? Because he didn't do anything... Jared Kushner gets $2 billion from the Saudis even though he oversaw Mideast peace. Totally kosher ... [House Republicans] have no credibility."
With all the conspiracy theories thrown against the wall on a daily basis by MAGA Republicans, hoping something sticks, it is important to always remember that most of the GOP accusations are projection and confessions.
The rot and decay and desperation of today’s GOP is a natural manifestation of Trumpism. But do not get complacent. Their only hope is that you will get exhausted and forget about the objective data, evidence, and open and obvious corruption staring us all in the face that they are committing every day.
Like a $2 billion pay off to Jared Kushner.
