Santos Says GOP is Embarrassing Him: Leaves the Party

It’s official. Republicans are so embarrassing that even former Representative George Santos no longer wants to be a part of the party.

Santos stated on X that ‘The Republican Party continues to lie and swindle its voter base. I in good conscience cannot affiliate myself with a party that stands for nothing and falls for everything.’

Santos indicated that he intends to run as an independent in the upcoming congressional race in New York’s 1st congressional district. 

Santos was expelled from Congress in December of 2023.
