With the recent news of Donald Trump’s decision not to participate in the upcoming debates, various Fox News hosts and contributors have been presenting arguments to entice the former president into changing his mind in the hopes that he’s watching. Obviously, Fox News and their on-air personalities would prefer it if Trump appeared at the upcoming Republican debate since it is being hosted on Fox News.

Today’s episode of “Outnumbered” featured multiple attempts to persuade Trump to reverse course on skipping the debates. Kayleigh McEnany described Trump’s decision as a huge political miscalculation, saying it would give others in the primary an opportunity to “shine” and attack the former president in his absence. McEnany also suggested it would set a precedent for President Biden to skip any possible future debates.

Harris Faulkner contended that posts on social media wouldn’t be enough to counter arguments made in Trump's absence during the debate.

A third argument was presented about how Ben Carson’s numbers appeared to “surge up briefly” following his debate performance.

McEnany appeared again on the Fox show “America Reports” and reiterated her earlier statements, characterizing Trump skipping the debates as a miscalculation. She added, “Could be the biggest audience ever,” in what seemed like an attempt to appeal to Trump’s desire for attention.

Trump Adviser Jason Miller was asked on Newsmax if the former president would be skipping all the debates. Miller responded that we should take Trump’s post on skipping the debates at face value, indicating that Trump would not be participating in any of the upcoming debates.
