Jim Jordan Demands Alvin Bragg's Testimony
Less than 24 hours after Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felony charges in New York City, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan, is now requesting that District Attorney Alvin Bragg appear before the House Judiciary for a hearing on June 13th.
The hearing, titled "Hearing on the Weaponization of the Federal Government" will "examine actions by state and local prosecutors to engage politically motivated prosecutions of federal officials, in particular the recent political prosecution of President Donald Trump by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office."
It is highly unlikely that District Attorney Bragg will appear at the hearing given the fact that Trump has yet to be sentenced and the case remains an open proceeding. In addition, the federal government has little purview of what goes on in a state prosecutor's office. Overall, yet another attempt by Jordan and MAGA Republicans in the House to support Trump and spread misinformation.
