Donald Trump Admits He Cannot Guarantee Tariffs Won't Raise Prices

After months of telling the American public that tariffs will not lead to higher prices for American consumers, Donald Trump has now admitted, after being elected, that he cannot guarantee that Americans won't face higher prices due to Trump's tariffs. 

Since winning the November 5th election, Donald Trump has pledged to introduce blanket tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China. Economists across the spectrum have since made clear that if Trump enacts the tariffs, the people that will hurt the most are American consumers as prices for everyday goods will go up. 

Economists are not the only ones. Various companies across America have already said that if tariffs become American policy, then they will be forced to raise prices on consumers. As Americans head into the holiday season, the fear of tariffs should scare many given the impacts on the American economy.
