"Charlie Kirk is a White Supremacist" — Trump 2024 Senior Advisor Reacts to MLK Attack
Dr. Darrell Scott, pastor of New Spirit Revival Center and Trump 2024 Senior Advisor, according to his Twitter bio, reacted to Charlie Kirk's attack on MLK with Twitter posts calling Kirk a "racist" and a "white supremacist" and launched strong criticism of his organization, Turning Point USA. Scott has known Trump for decades and has visited him during his time in the White House, flew with him on Air Force One, and has been a guest at his Mar-a-Lago home.
Scott posted a video of MLK calling out the hypocrisy of the United States government giving white people land grants and aid while ignoring the needs of the country's Black population. Scott wrote:
"Happy MLK Day to Charlie Kirk. Here's a video for him."
In a reply to a comment on his video post, Scott calling Kirk a white supremacist.
In another reply, Scott called Kirk a "racist" and said "eff him."
Scott said, "Charlie Kirk isn't worthy to tie MLKs shoes."
In another post, Scott took aim at Kirk for opposing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which banned segregation and discrimination. Scott implied Kirk is opposed to equal opportunity. When Wayne DuPree brought up that Kirk has fired racist staff members in the past and questioned why they were hired in the first place, Scott commented that Kirk's "racist ass only fired them because of bad press" and "he knew who they were and what they thought."
Scott said Kirk "cultivates that 💩" and in another comment noted that Kirk "is targeting young people who are impressionable to become White Supremacists." This is in reference to Kirk's large Turning Point USA network which recruits on high school and college campuses. Scott referred to it as "the modern day 'Hitler Youth'' and summarized it's mission as:
"Don't go to college, stay barefoot in the kitchen, have babies, and hate non white people, especially blacks, Jews too."
Scott retweeted a post claiming Kirk doesn't like to book Black speakers for his Turning Point USA events, calling them "low key KKK rallies."
Scott reacted to that post by stating he's known who Kirk was "a long time ago." When another account implied Kirk should get a pass for paying Candace Owens, Scott revealed that "Candace told me OUT OF HER MOUTH that TPUSA was the REAL plantation."
Scott also took aim at one of Charlie Kirk's employees, Jack Posobiec, who was also attacking MLK. Scott called Posobiec, who goes by "Poso," as "a POS Conservative."
Scott also expressed displeasure at Black conservatives for "tiptoeing around Charlie Kirk's racist 💩." Scott believes more Black conservative voices should be calling out Kirk's attack on MLK, which mirrors the racist attacks MLK received in his own lifetime.
Kirk has attacked MLK on his ThoughtCrime podcast and on the Charlie Kirk Show. Kirk said MLK was a "bad guy" and called the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act a "mistake."
Kirk also questioned the need for an MLK holiday and a national monument in his honor. Kirk agreed with his guest's claim that Black people will always be at the bottom in the country until they reject the Civil Rights Movement.
Scott has warned that "there's a Conservative faction in the Republican Party that wants the Party to revert back to" embracing the "lily-white movement" which "was an anti-black political movement within the Republican Party" and "was a response to the political and socioeconomic gains made by African-Americans following the Civl war and the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution which eliminated slavery."
Kirk's comments are reprehensible. Scott sees Kirk's action for what they are. Many have been calling out Kirk's rhetoric, often slickly sanitized for consumption, as racist and have drawn lines tracing Kirk's rhetoric back to white supremacists. Along the lines of Scott's thinking, where are the prominent elected Republicans calling out Kirk's attack on MLK?
