Bret Baier Admits He Played The Wrong Trump Clip in Kamala Interview

Baier played a clip that softened Trump's statements on turning the military on the American people

Fox Host Bret Baier admitted he played a misleading clip during his interview with Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday. Harris called Baier out during the interview for playing a clip of Trump that seemed to refute what Harris was saying, that Trump had called for the U.S. military to deal with "the enemy within."

Baier had challenged Harris' claim and then cut to a clip of Trump saying at a Town Hall that he is "not threatening anybody."

"Bret, I'm sorry and with all due respect, that clip was not what he has been saying about the enemy within. That he has repeated when he is speaking about the American people. That's not what you just showed," Harris said as Baier tried to interrupt her to defend the clip.

"That's not what you just showed in all fairness and respect to you...you didn’t show that, and here is the bottom line: He has repeated it multiple times, and you and I both know that, and you and I both know he has talked about turning the military on the American people."

"I wanna say that I did make a mistake," Baier said Thursday on his show to Fox Host Harris Faulkner. "When I called for a sound bite, I was expecting a piece of 'the enemy from within,' from Maria Bartiromo’s interview to be tied to the piece from your town hall, Harris, where you asked the former president about 'the enemy from within.'"

"I think the bigger problem are the people from within," Trump said during an interview with Fox last weekend. "We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics, and it should be very easily handled if necessary by National Guard, and if really necessary by the military."
