According to the Tass News Agency, the Russian Civil Aviation Authority is reporting that Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of the mercenary Wagner Group which turned against Vladimir Putin earlier this summer, was on the list of passengers on a plane that has crashed into the Tver Region of Russia.

Ten people were reportedely on board, including three crew members. Witnesses on the ground posted video of the plane falling out of the sky.

Prigozhin had been on the run since his abandoning his effort to lead his private army from Ukraine to Moscow. The Wagner Group had taken control of the Russian military base in Rostov-On-Don before calling off the attack. Prigozhin stayed briefly in Belarus before disappearing.

This is a developing story.
